Breakfast / Commis Chef

Location:            Stornoway - Caladh Inn

Rate of pay:       £7.00 per hour, 40 hours (overtime available), full-time permanent position. 

Start date:         Immediate
 

We are looking for an experienced commis chef, with a passion for excellence, to join the kitchen team in our high quality 2 star hotel.  The hotel kitchen caters for our carvery style and a la carte restaurant (110 covers), and our popular banqueting suite seating up to 160 guests.

The successful applicant will take responsibility for preparation and presentation of buffet breakfasts for hotel guests, with assistance when required.

For lunch and dinner service, which is carvery/buffet and a la carte, the Commis Chef will be mainly responsible for preparation and presentation of vegetables and a wide variety of salads.

The position reports to the Head Chef and Hotel Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who is at a fairly early career stage to progress by working in a high quality property as part of a friendly, motivated team.

We are looking for a talented and ambitious chef, with a passion for excellence, to join the kitchen team in our high quality 2 star hotel.

The hotel kitchen caters for our carvery style and a la carte restaurant (110 covers), and our popular banqueting suite seating up to 160 guests.

We specialise in family dining using the freshest local produce available.

Under the direction of the Head Chef, the chef de partie’s primary role will be preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in the restaurant. Duties associated with this role including directing junior staff in preparing, cooking, and presenting culinary dishes; enforcing strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef to progress his or her career by working in a high quality property as part of a friendly, motivated team.
