The total
conference space available in Cala Hotels' Stornoway function rooms
could seat up to 700 delegates simultaneously and we
have beds for over 240 guests.
While we are used
to staging
meetings and conferences for local commerce and institutions, we also
provide for many off-island clients. Having its own entrance
foyer and facilities, the ballroom at the Cabarfeidh Hotel also
operates well as a sale room for trading functions and is
regularly used by High Street retailers from the mainland who wish to
both provide their products to island consumers and to benefit from the
high disposable income available from several consumer sectors.
The geographical
location of the
Isle of Lewis and its travel infrastructure, together with
the
'intrigue' value for new visitors, supports the potential benefit for
marketeers to stage meetings here. Although news
travels
fast among islanders, there is every reason to suppose that advance
product launches, for example, could be staged more discreetly than on
the mainland.
For example, a
press or dealer
launch for a car model revision, together with test driving on quiet
remote roads, would attract a great deal less attention in Lewis, than
on the mainland, helping to prevent reports appearing before the
desired time.
