Enjoy contemporary dishes representing a fusion of traditional Scottish recipes, French classic cuisine and world specialities. Fresh food, beautifully prepared and presented in Solas Restaurant, TripAdvisor’s joint highest rated* restaurant in Stornoway. (*at July 2015)
Solas means ‘light’ in Gaelic and that’s an excellent word to describe this modern brasserie style restaurant, completed in 2007.
Head chef, Phil, has a passion for cooking and has travelled the world developing his skills in preparing fish, shellfish, local lamb and other fresh local food in some of the finest locations for the production of these ingredients. He then returned to Scotland and the Outer Hebrides, to discover that our own fresh foods are in every way a match for those he found during his travels.
We regularly launch new sets of menus which are linked from the bottom of Solas’ web page.
Early dinners, ordered between 5pm and 6.30pm, show a significant saving against the à la carte menu – though bear in mind that you couldn’t reasonably expect to find our most expensive dishes on this menu.
