Cabarfeidh Hotel - Kitchen Porter

Right now, we are looking for an energetic, passionate and hard-working Kitchen Porter to help us. We thoroughly look after our guests, host incredible functions and serve delicious meals. All of which create a mountain of dishes, cutlery, trays and the likes that will need to be returned to pristine condition – together with the kitchen itself of course. This makes the Kitchen Porter one of the most important positions within our kitchen and you will be playing a vital role in helping the team to deliver outstanding catering for all our guests. But not just that – you will also add another smile to the faces of the Cabarfeidh.

As Kitchen Porter you will:

  • Take pride and ownership in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and passion for a job well done.
  • Washing and putting away pots, pans, crockery and cutlery as needed.
  • Keeping all work surfaces, walls and floors spotlessly clean and sanitised.
  • Support the chefs in completing all cleaning routines to the highest standards.
  • Adhere to all required standards for cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Have the opportunity to learn basic food preparation skills.
  • Have a can-do attitude and work well under pressure.
  • Be a great team player with a sense of humour.

What you can expect from us:

  • We pay above the minimum wage. You will get a real living wage rate of pay.
  • Flexible working hours – we will find a way that works for both sides.
  • Meals, teas and coffees whilst you are on shift are on us.
  • Thorough training and support. All training is of course paid for.

This is a position with around 15 - 25 hours per week, 5 out of 7 shifts, involving working late and on weekends. This can also be a part time position if this suits you better though. But whatever the details, we’ll work it out – just come on in and we look forward to having a chat.

Cabarfeidh Hotel - Food & Beverage Assistant – Restaurant/ Bar/ Events

Right now, we are looking for an experienced, energetic and passionate Food & Beverage Assistant to help us. We thoroughly look after our guests, host incredible functions, serve delicious meals, whip up some wicked cocktails and make great coffee. As Food & Beverage Assistant you will not just help the team to always provide exceptional customer service – you will also add another smile to the faces of the Cabarfeidh.

As Food & Beverage Assistant you will:

  • Have solid experience working in busy hotels, restaurants or bars
  • Take pride in your work and always have a genuine smile on your face.
  • Be outgoing, communicative and welcoming and enjoy looking after people.
  • Make guests feel welcome and ensure they have an amazing experience.
  • Serve guests in our restaurant, the bars and during functions and events.
  • Pour and serve drinks, mix cocktails and make coffees.
  • Set up and clear tables and help ensuring your department is always ready, stocked up and prepared to welcome the next guests.
  • Take payments.
  • Respond to guest enquiries and requests promptly and effectively.
  • Adhere to COSHH, Health & Safety, cleanliness and hygiene standards and our policies and procedures.
  • Respect your fellow colleagues, collaborate with other departments and be a part of one excellent, hard working and successful team.

Cabarfeidh Hotel - Gardener

Are you looking to make a real difference? There are beautiful landscapes and gardens all around the Cabarfeidh Hotel. Right now, we are looking for someone to help us maintain our gardens and keep them looking amazing. We are then looking to go beyond that and to further improve the gardens for all to enjoy even more.

Your work will have a real impact and make a noticeable difference to the appearance of the hotel not only for our guests and everyone in Stornoway, but anyone even just passing by.

As Gardener you will:

  • Have experience in looking after and be knowledgeable about gardens, lawns, shrubs or trees and planting and maintaining plants.

Right now, we are looking for a dedicated, energetic and passionate Housekeeping Assistant to help us. We thoroughly look after our guests and you will play a vital role in helping with our in house laundry and maintaining the cleanliness of our hotel by ensuring that all accommodation, function and public areas of the hotel are spotlessly clean to provide the perfect welcome and stay for our guest – you will also add another smile to the faces of the Cabarfeidh.

As Housekeeping Assistant you will:

·       Take pride in your work and enjoy the satisfaction of leaving behind a tidy, fresh, crisp and immaculately clean space.

  • Care about the comfort of our guests and have an eye for detail.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, ensuring the highest cleanliness and hygiene standards in all bedrooms are always maintained.
  • Ensure all linen, amenities and supplies are replenished as needed.
  • Assist with our in-house laundry and with maintaining the cleanliness of the back of house areas when needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the public areas of the hotel.
  • Respond to guest enquiries and requests promptly and effectively.
  • Adhere to COSHH, Health & Safety, cleanliness and hygiene standards and our policies and procedures.
  • Respect your fellow colleagues, collaborate with other departments and be a part of one excellent, hardworking and successful team.
